Data Analytics Drives Improvements in Population Health Management [#Infographic]

Recent research indicates that advancing analytics creates opportunities for healthcare to rethink their population health approach.

Healthcare IT continues to face monumental changes as the industry works to overhaul service models and integrate advanced data analytics for improved population health management.

Rising healthcare costs, in particular, drive analytics adoption among healthcare organizations of all sizes, according to an infographic featuring data from CDW Healthcare’s 2015 Analytics in Health Report. Created in conjunction with O’Keeffe and Company, the report stems from a survey of more than 150 healthcare decision-makers.

Organizations that have already implemented analytics technology name improvements to patient care and financial reporting as top clinical and operational benefits, respectively. But challenges remain: According to the infographic, issues surrounding the interoperability of data and systems stand as some of the biggest hurdles to adoption, although organizations also struggle to manage large data volumes and fund analytics initiatives.
